Ethics & Expert Witnesses:
A solicitor, a barrister and an expert witness walk into a bar … who pays?
Hudspeth and other cases of contravening conduct under the Civil Procedure Act 2010 (Vic)
Please join AILA as our panel discusses practical (and potentially career saving) tips in relation to understanding and executing your obligations concerning expert witnesses and the use of expert reports in civil litigation under the Civil Procedure Act 2010 (Vic) and Court Rules.
The Panel will consider the multiple Hudspeth decisions to highlight "what to do" and "what not to do" from the points of view of solicitors, barristers and experts; and also discuss several other decisions that have been delivered in the 4 years since the commencement of the Civil Procedure Act 2010 (Vic) (as amended).
This seminar will be of special interest to:
- insurance claims managers, brokers, loss adjusters and any person engaging experts;
- independent expert consultants;
- legal practitioners.
This seminar may qualify for an ethics point for your relevant governing body, including Law Institute of Victoria.
This event is proudly supported by Sparke Helmore and Unisearch
