AILA Member, Ray Giblett, appointed as VP, AIDA Financial Lines Working Party

AILA is proud to announce Ray Giblett, Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright Australia, has been appointed as Vice Chairman to a new AIDA working party on Financial Lines. 
 
In this role Ray will give specific insights on financial lines especially in relation to the Asia Pacific Region. AIDA working parties (of which there are now 13) provide specific focus to areas of greatest importance to insurance. Global experts contribute to research from which position papers and advice is provided to commercial enterprises and governments. It is AIDA’s aim to propose measures with a view to the insurance industry adopting them at a national and international level, leading to harmonisation of insurance law or means for resolution of insurance disputes.
 
This new AIDA Financial Lines Working Party has been formed and will be chaired by Dr. Robert Koch LL.M., a leading academic authority on financial lines insurance in Germany. Dr Koch is currently chairing at Hamburg University the oldest German Institute of Insurance Law (founded in 1916).
 
Robert commented “I am delighted to have Ray come on board as vice chairman Asia Pacific Region. The objective of the Financial Lines Working Party is to provide a worldwide platform for practitioners and academics involved and/or interested in financial lines (e.g. D&O insurance, financial institutions professional indemnity, prospectus liability, crime/fidelity insurance, kidnap and ransom, CyberRisks) to share information and to discuss latest developments in that field”.

As part of Ray’s commitment he will provide thought pieces on areas of interest in the financial lines space as well as participate in the global working parties at places such as the AIDA World Congress 2018 in Rio and other AIDA regional meets.
