  • What are the product liability risks for importers, manufacturers and other suppliers in the chain of distribution for products incorporating artificial intelligence systems?
  • What are the best strategies for effective risk management and appropriate insurance to minimise the potential liability threat arising for suppliers of such technology?

 

Strategies, tips and traps

The expert panel will discuss how importers, manufacturers, wholesalers and retailers - together with their insurers, brokers and risk managers - can best respond to these issues and liability exposures.  Issues addressed will include:

  • Practical tips for manufacturers/suppliers to limit their exposure, including compliance with Industry Codes of Practice and applicable standards
  • Legal risk management to minimise liability exposure to defective artificial intelligence systems
  • Underwriting and claims management initiatives to better protect an insured’s coverage against defective artificial intelligence systems which cause personal injury, loss and damage
  • ‘Best practice’ adopted by insurance risk managers to reduce the potential liability risks for manufacturers/suppliers arising from defective artificial intelligence systems
