Mackey’s and Wilkins’ Hypotheticals: An Advanced Workers Compensation Case Study.

Inspired by Geoffrey Robertson’s Hypotheticals, this session will see Leigh Mackey of Ogilvie Jennings Lawyers and Mat Wilkins of Page Seager Lawyers go head to head and engage in a wide ranging in depth discussion from a hypothetical situation (to be distributed to participants prior to the session)  between workers and employers as well as between insurers. Why and How Employers Should Champion Workplace Wellbeing.

This will be discussed in conjunction with the statistical data around the type of workers compensation claims we are seeing in Tasmania.

The Disjunctive Test: The ongoing effect of section 25 of the Act.

Presented by Sandra Taglieri, Barrister at Derwent & Tamar Chambers. Following the amendments in 2007, the change in Section 25 of the Act to a purely disjunctive test has not been without ramifications.
