AIDA plans a return to F2F events

by Chris Rodd, AIDA Vice President – Asia Pacific, Presidential Council Representative – Australia

As we start to slowly resume life in a Covid-19 impacted environment, AIDA will resume face-to-face events where health and safety constraints permit.

The first scheduled face-to-face event is an AIDA Europe meeting in Zurich scheduled for 18-20 May 2022. The last AIDA Europe event was in Lisbon in mid-2019, so it is anticipated it will be well supported by European colleagues and members outside Europe.

Because we haven’t met F2F since 2019, the AIDA Europe event will be combined with an AIDA Presidential Council and executive meeting to draw in meetings of as many AIDA working parties as possible.

With the AIDA World Congress rescheduled for Melbourne in October 2023, Zurich will be an ideal opportunity to promote the event as many of those attending Zurich will be interested in coming to Melbourne the following year.

With restrictions for entry into Australia progressively easing over the next 12–18 months, it is likely there will be great interest in the upcoming World Congress.

Despite the impact of Covid-19 globally, interest in participating in AIDA activities and forming new chapters continues to grow. We now have ARIAS Ireland and AIDA Cyprus as new chapters. Applications are being processed and considered for Malta, Iran and the west African nation of Togo.

I will continue to update you on AIDA developments and encourage anyone with an interest in participating AIDA activities and its working parties to please contact me. I would be delighted to assist.

As this is the December edition of Resolve, I wish you and your families the best for the festive season and hope to see many of you in person at AILA and NZILA events in 2022.
