NZILA President’s message – Myles Noble

NZILA welcomes new chapters

On behalf of the NZILA national committee, a warm Happy New Year to all members and I hope everyone had some quality time off over the holiday period.

We have a lot planned for 2020 and, at our first committee meeting, we focused on ways to enhance chapter events and extend the work we did last year on our two new chapters in Otago and the Manawatu. Members can look forward to an exciting and varied program of local events this year.

The Auckland chapter had its first event scheduled for 4 March on “Insurance complaints – what the current issues are and what the future might look like”.

NZILA also has dates set for the National Conference in stunning Queenstown on 16-18 September. I know convenor Maree Cowan and her organising team are close to finalising the academic and social programs, which look outstanding and will showcase some of the best Queenstown has to offer.

I came across an excellent article written by our immediate past president and AIDA representative Jonathan Scragg, which provides a great overview of the New Zealand insurance regime. Read more here.
