Mark Livesey QC
Mark Livesey is a Queen’s Counsel at Bar Chambers and is well known to both AILA members and the wider insurance law community.
After working for Ward & Partners in commercial and insurance litigation and a stint as a Law Claims panel member Mark joined the South Australia Bar in 2000 and was appointed Queen's Counsel in 2006. He is a member of Bar Chambers in Adelaide and is an Associate Member of Ninth Floor, Selbourne Chambers in Sydney.
Mark practices in the areas of appellate advocacy, civil and commercial litigation, insurance, medical negligence and wills, probate and family inheritance law.
Comprehensive details of Mark’s principal litigation matters and his numerous papers presentations and professional positions appear on his Chambers website. The latter include his appointment as President of the Australian Bar Association (2014 -2015), the Co-Chairman of the Forum for Barristers and Advocates of the International Bar Association (2014-2015), a former President of the South Australian Bar Association (2010-2012), a former Director of the Law Council of Australia (2010-2012) and a former member of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal (2010-2015).
