Brad Nicholls, ICPS Australia

Brad Nicholls has over 30 years’ experience in the engineering and construction industries. During this time he has been exposed to a broad range of engineering projects and investigations and has gained experience in most facets of forensic engineering investigations and project and construction design and management.

Brad is the Principal of ICPS Australia Pty Ltd, a company which carries out Insurance investigations, design, construction and project management.

The company has offices and representation in Cairns, Brisbane, Darwin, Sydney and Melbourne and serves Australia with a compliment of experienced engineers, building consultants and designers all focusing on insurance claim and project related work.

Brads general construction, engineering, and project management experience includes major and minor projects in residential, industrial, commercial and community centre design and construction.

Investigations of defective, damaged and distressed buildings are carried out on a daily basis and include residential dwellings, major and minor works such as collapsed retaining walls and structures, vibration damage, settlement in structures and fire, flood and storm damage.

Brad has been personally involved in many major catastrophic events such as the Cyclone Yasi 2011, Cyclone Larry (Nth Qld), Cyclones Ului, Mackay and Townsville floods; and particularly leading the forward investigation team after the earthquake event in Taiwan in 1999, which involved investigation of over 20 major civil works insurance claims totalling hundreds of million of dollars in damage

In addition to the construction elements of insurance investigations and consultancy services, Brad has also directed the personal injury and liability investigations division which includes slip, trip and fall investigations, testing and reporting and other areas of personal injury involving building code compliance issues.
