EVENT: Expert Evidence |
Description
The Expert Evidence seminar will focus on:
- issues that arose in the context of expert evidence in a variety of proceedings including:
- disclosure of draft reports;
- Whether an opinion is, in truth an “expert” opinion or something the Court is able to determine on its own;
- Attempts to adduce “expert evidence” when not a recognised science
- An expert acting as an advocate
- Consequences of using employees of a party to the proceeding to give expert evidence
- An expert giving an opinion that contradicts prior academic writings by the expert
- A discussion about presenting complex expert evidence in an easy to understand and persuasive manner
